Rose Dudgeon
Rose Dudgeon age 95 formerly of Lucan passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Rose was born October 7, 1913 on the family farm in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, MN to Nickolas & Mary (Stadick) Fischer. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic School in Wabasso. On November 18, 1929, Rose was united in marriage to Ray Dudgeon at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. They resided in East Grand Forks, Wabasso, and later Lucan. In October 1998 Rose moved to Boulder Estates in Marshall, until May 2001 when she entered the Tracy Nursing Home. She then became a resident of Valley View Manor in Lamberton in November 2006 where she has resided since. Rose was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan, where she was active with Christian Mothers. She was an excellent cook. In her younger years, Rose enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed traveling south for the winter.
Rose is survived by her children: Betty (Clem) Brau of Redwood Falls, Cliff Dudgeon of Hopkins, Edward Dudgeon of Pensacola, FL, Jack (Carol) Dudgeon of Sauk Rapids, Joleen (Ed) Fujan of Rochester, Rosie (Jerry) Johnson of Milroy, Dale Dudgeon of Redwood Falls, and Vance (Diane) Dudgeon of Lake Crystal; 17 grandsons and 18 granddaughters; 41 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray, daughter LeeAnn Schmidt, one granddaughter, two great grandsons and two great granddaughters, sister Mary, four brothers Nick, Joe, Frank and Edward, and three daughters in law Ag, Avis, and Donna. |
