Hector, Minnesota to Hans O. Lund and Lillian (Kiehl) Lund. He was
baptized at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bird Island, MN
and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, MN. He attended
country School District #134. Edward was raised on the farm where
he was born until his marriage to Shirley Ann Wehking on November
19, 1950. The couple moved to Franklin, MN in March, 1951 where
he farmed and was employed by a mechanic shop in Franklin. Edward
opened his own business in 1958, the Valley Garage. He did mechanic
work for area farmers and anyone that needed things repaired. In
1966 he went into the used car dealership and used car parts business.
Edward retired in 1987 and his business was taken over by his son
Mark, who continues the business under Lund’s Auto Recyclers
Repair and Parts. Upon his retirement, Edward’s time was spent
working at his shop at Nelson Yards (which he purchased in 1988)
and repairing whatever he bought at auctions. He also enjoyed lending
a helping hand to his sons. Edward had a stroke in 1994 and felt
blessed to have come back with very little damage. Edward was a
member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Franklin. He enjoyed
going to Jackpot Buffet for the food and the friends he met there.
Edward also enjoyed gathering with his friends at WalMart every
morning, no matter what the weather. On June 10, 2007 Edward was
involved in a serious car accident and had been hospitalized since.
