The 1959 New Year’s Baby, Kevin, the oldest child of Ray & Lorraine (Weyer) Farmer was born January 4th in Redwood Falls. He graduated in 1977 from Redwood Falls High School and relocated to the Twin Cities area. He returned to Redwood Falls in 2007. Kevin was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. He was employed at Express Messenger, Inc. in Minneapolis as Safety Manager. On September 11, 1982, Kevin was united in marriage to Nina (Paulson) Hooker in Savage, MN. They were blessed with two children, Christopher and Leslie. Kevin was a man that loved tradition; from fishing openers, father/daughter outings, camping with high school buddies to the fall State Park camping outings. He loved his sports and trivia. He was competitive by nature; from arm wrestling, fishing (first, biggest, most), lawn games, pitching shoes (even leaners had a purpose), to flipping quarters. He always has a very witty sense of humor and one liners. It was probably from all the episodes of his favorite TV shows: MASH, Cheers & Seinfeld. He also loved to read and had quite a collection of books. He was a very generous man, always willing to pay for dinner, the next round, giving directions in the metro area, or just to give you his time. We believe he also gave Michael Jordan the nod to his patented “tongue bite”. One thing is for sure about Kevin, family came first and you could always count on him.

Kevin is survived by his two children: Christopher and Leslie Farmer both of Bloomington, MN; his dog and faithful companion Captain Jack; parents Ray and Lorraine Farmer of Redwood Falls, three brothers: Chuck (Tammy) Farmer of Redwood Falls, Rick (Ida) Farmer of Morton, and Ron (Susie) Farmer of Chaska; two sisters: Sandy (Diego) Alvarez of Merritt Island, FL and Julie (Joel) Read of Redwood Falls; nieces and nephews: Ciji, Blair, Mindy, Mitch, Brianna, Carson, Candace, Shelby, Savanna, Haley, Briggs, Braxton, Jordana, Janessa, and Jillian; great niece Jada and great nephew Dyami. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Blessed be his memory.
