Tena Caroline Helgeson age 81 of Delhi, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Seasons Hospice in Redwood Falls. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Belview Cemetery. Email condolences may be sent via www.redwoodvalleyfuneralhome.com. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is handling the arrangements.

Tena Caroline Helgeson was born May 8, 1926 to Peter and Anna (Nordeen) Helgeson in Kintire Township. She was baptized and confirmed n the Lutheran faith. Tena attended country schools and Belview Public School. Tena worked as a welder in the shipping yards in Portland, Oregon during WWII. She lived and worked in the Hopkins area before she moved to Delhi in the late 1970’s. Tena enjoyed reading playing Kismet and board games, and visiting with family and friends.

Tena is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and great great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Mathilda Schjenken, Johannah Hahn, Pearl Christenson & Myrtle Ockwig; brothers: Halvor, Henry, Sam, & twins Alfred and Arthur Helgeson; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; five nephews and a twin niece and nephew.
