Loretta J. Mansoor

Loretta J. Mansoor, age 84 of Redwood Falls passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 18 at her home.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Arrangements are with the Redwood Valley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Friends of the Animal Shelter.

Loretta J. (Callewart) Mansoor was born October 28, 1924 to Oscar and Irma (Verlinde) Callewart in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Loretta graduated from Walnut Grove High School and continued her education at the School of Nursing at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. She was united in marriage to Raja Mansoor on November 20, 1952. During World War II, Loretta served as a nurse in the military. She continued her nursing career at the Redwood Area Hospital for 35 years. Loretta was an avid gardener and she loved the outdoors. She loved traveling, spending time with her family, going to the library, reading, and collecting anything that pertained to Nursing.

She is survived by her daughter: Mary Ann Mansoor of Redwood Falls; sister: Evelyn Greene of Dallas, Texas; brother: Dr. Robert Callewart of Dallas, Texas and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Yvonne.
