Florine was born March 1, 1921 to Clyde and Agnes (Fuhr) Davis
in Sheridan Township. She attended school in the country and in
Seaforth, and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1937. She was
united in marriage to Maynard “Mike” Miller at the Seaforth
Presbyterian Church on Sept. 10, 1940. They farmed in the Lucan
area until October, 2001 when they moved to Redwood Falls. Florine,
better known as “Toots” to family and friends, was an
avid seamstress, sewing everything from wedding gowns to full walls
of draperies. She crafted many beautiful hand-stitched quilts for
family and friends. She enjoyed card-playing, Bingo, crossword puzzles,
all kinds of music, and keeping in touch with those she loved with
letters and e-mails. She and Mike were long-time members of Trinity
Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities in the Women’s
Organization, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. She had a
servant’s heart for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband of almost 68 years, Maynard “Mike”
Miller, 2 daughters: Sandy (Tom) Christensen of Prescott, AZ, and
Gloria (John) Anderson of Madison Lake, MN; 4 grandsons: Scott (April)
Christensen of Anthem, AZ, Derek (Amy) Anderson of Mankato, MN,
Jesse (Dana) Anderson of Scottsdale, AZ, and Brendan (Jenna) Anderson
of Scottsdale, AZ; 3 great-grandsons: Jake and Justin Christensen
and Caeden Anderson; sister Betty (Hubert) Sickmann of Locustgrove,
VA; sister-in-law Althea Miller of Sauk Rapids, MN; and many special
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3
brothers: Delbert, Lavern, and Donald Davis; and one sister, Gertrude
Carlson.
Though we deeply mourn her loss, Heaven has welcomed her home –
may God be praised for her life and precious legacy of memories
she’s left behind!
