Loretta H. Pistulka

Loretta Helen Pistulka, age 89 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Seaforth, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday AT THE CHURCH with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Loretta Helen Pistulka was born June 25, 1919 in Sheridan Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to Anton and Mary (Kramer) Pistulka. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. She attended elementary school Dist. #104, graduating from Wabasso Catholic School in 1934. In 1939, she graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Mankato, Minnesota and was employed for a time in Redwood Falls. In 1942, she went to California and worked on aircraft at a Defense plant until 1945, thereafter employed as a Dental Assistant. In 1957, she returned to Minnesota. She was employed by Great Northern Insurance in Minneapolis until 1967, at which time she returned to California and worked with an insurance agency until her retirement in 1984. She returned to Minnesota to live in May of 2006. Loretta enjoyed doing volunteer work, traveling, dancing, and reading.

She is survived by her brother Joseph (Maxine) Pistulka of Redwood Falls; sisters: Gertrude Wurscher of Redwood Falls and Dorothy Soupir of Marshall; sister-in-law Esther Pistulka of Redwood Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters: Adeline Pistulka and Delores Gales; and 4 brothers: Arnold, Charles, Roy, and Anthony.
