Caroline “Polly” Emma Severson Caroline “Polly” Emma Severson, age 95 of Burnsville, formerly of the Danube and Renville area passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Augustana Regent Care Center in Burnsville where she resided the last three years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Danube. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment is in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery south of Danube. Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Caroline “Polly” Emma Severson was born December 24, 1913 to George and Mary (Jeddelon) Billiar in Danube, Minnesota. She was baptized by Pastor F.H. Hoepfer, and confirmed by Pastor A.W. Beauert at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Danube. Caroline attended school in the Danube and Renville areas where she spent most of her life. On January 11, 1946 Caroline married Kenneth O. Severson at Central Lutheran parsonage in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Pastor E. Hjartland officiating. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Danube. Caroline enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, crocheting and doing puzzles. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching all the local sports teams. She assisted at Augustana Regent doing various sewing and needlework projects. Caroline is survived by her daughter, Sandra and husband Burt Dahlberg of Prior Lake; son Kenneth O. Severson, Jr. and his friend Kathy of St. Cloud; three grandchildren, Jeff Reistad (Aimie) of Prior Lake, MN, Julie Watschke (Matt) of Carver, MN, Kristine Clemens (David) of Eagan, MN; five great grandchildren: Samantha and Curt Watschke, Ethan and Ahren Reistad, and Meredith Clemens; one sister Doty Havelisch of St. Paul; and also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers, and her husband Kenneth Severson. |
