Barbara Stevens, age 60 of Belview passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday. Interment will be at the Rock Valle Lutheran Cemetery in rural Echo. Arrangements are with the Redwood Valley Funeral Home.

Barbara Jo Stevens was born on November 13, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Shortly after she joined her adoptive parents, Sanford “Sandy” and Dorothy (Colston) Stevens. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Barbara attended schools in Sacred Heart and Belview and graduated from Belview High School in 1965. She did office work in the Twin Cities, Missouri and in Mankato before returning to Belview in the early 1980’s. Barb was known as “Bobby” to her close family and “Stevie” to her close friends. She was a very personable lady and was a wonderful caring friend who touched many lives. Barb made people feel very comforted being around her. Her heritage was evident in her love for anything Italian. Barb was a very gifted writer and served as Grace Lutheran Card Angel for several years. She had a love of angels and enjoyed reading, writing, working on the computer and crafts. She enjoyed watching the Vikings and Timberwolves, traveling in her younger years and spending time with “the gals of ‘65” girlfriends.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Kim Schnarr; aunts: June Stevens and Lois Jorgensen of Richfield, and Marlene Quiring of North Carolina; several cousins; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Sandy and Dorothy, and brother Jim Stevens.
