Dallas Rank Dallas Rank age 81 of Tracy, formerly of Walnut Grove, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday. Dallas Rank was born September 6, 1927 at home in Wilder, Minnesota to Robert and Alma Rank. He attended country school between Westbrook and Walnut Grove. After his schooling, he began working on the farm. He enlisted in the US Army, and served in Korea during the War. He received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained there. After the War, Dallas received his honorable discharge, and returned home to farm until his parents passed away. He then moved into Walnut Grove where he resided until entering the Prairie View Nursing Home in Tracy. Dallas enjoyed collecting, buying and selling antiques. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Dallas is survived by his sister Norma of Tracy and her husband Lester Imker; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Duane, sister Doris “Doddie” Bashans, and his special friend Betty Willhite who passed away the day before Dallas. |
