Dessie Aulene Egenes age 91 of Westbrook, formerly of Storden, died
Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in
Westbrook, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday
at Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden, MN. Visitation will be held
from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Westbrook Funeral Home and will continue
on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is
in the church cemetery. The Westbrook Funeral Home is handling the
arrangements.

Dessie Aulene Egenes was born December 2, 1916 in Nashville, TN to
Oscar and Florence (Adcock) Earp. She was baptized in TN and began her
schooling there. The family lived in Nashville until her mother passed
away in 1923; at that time the four children went to live with their
Grandma Adcock at Murfreesboro, TN until 1926, when her dad and step
mother moved to MN with the children. Dessie was confirmed at Amo
Lutheran Church, south of Storden, MN and attended country school in
Highwater Township. She was united in married to Lars Egenes on
December 23, 1933 and they were blessed with eight children. Dessie was
a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Westbrook and was an active
member of Amo Church where she served on the ladies aid. She enjoyed
baking, cooking, gardening, loved decorating, rotating furniture and
repainting rooms. She cooked at school and area restaurants and also
worked at TORO for a number of years. She enjoyed spending time with
family and friends and was always willing to help her children with
anything.

Dessie Egenes passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the
Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook, Minnesota at the age of
91 years, 1 month and 24 days.

She is survived by her children: LeRoy Egenes of Westbrook, Harriet
Moller of Jeffers, Patricia Banse of Enid, OK, Stanley Egenes of
Slayton, David (Rozzie) Egenes of Lamberton, Cheryl (Brian) Pabst of
Sanborn, and Linda Pauling of Virginia, MN; 21 grandchildren; 41 great
grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; stepbrothers: Eugene
and Harold Earp; stepsisters: Betty Koch, Marie Colton, Joyce Inscore,
Sharon K. Shetterly, Faye Barnes; sisters-in-law: Christine (John)
Bondhus and Minnie Earp and brother-in-law Elmer Rader; and many nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and
Florence Earp, husband Lars who died in 1981, son Franklin who died in
1973, sons-in-law: Darell Banse and Alvin Moller, stepmother Lilly Mae
Earp, three brothers: Alfred, Hoarce and Franklin Earp, stepbrothers:
James, Ervin and Marlow Earp, and stepsister Florence Walker.
