Hazel L. Enstad
Hazel L. Enstad…92 of Westbrook passed away Wednesday, May
20, 2009 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services
will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday, May 23 at Old Westbrook Lutheran
Church in rural Westbrook. Visitation will be held from 4-8p.m.
on Friday at the Westbrook Funeral home with a 7:30p.m. prayer service.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, one hour prior to the service
at the church. Interment is in Old Westbrook Lutheran Cemetery.
Hazel Lucile Einertson Enstad was born on May 25, 1916 to Norman
and Mabel (Anderson) Einertson in Westbrook Township, Cottonwood
County, Minnestoa. She attended District #30 School. Hazel was a
life-long member of Old Westbrook Lutheran Church where she was
baptized on July 9, 1916, confirmed August 3, 1930, and united in
marriage to Lloyd R. Enstad on December 16, 1939.
Hazel and Lloyd farmed in Ann Township for 37 years before moving
to Westbrook in 1977. They enjoyed traveling, visiting many of the
states, including Hawaii. They also visited Canada, Norway, and
other European countries, Israel and Panama. Hazel was very active
at Old Westbrook Church, including Ladies Aid and Mission Circle.
She was a member of the Centennial Committee and was a Sunday School
and Bible School teacher for many years. She also served as Sunday
School Superintendent, was a 4-H leader, a member of Ann Township
Extension group and the Westbrook Hospital Auxiliary. Hazel enjoyed
playing piano and all music, cooking, gardening and photography.
She is survived by her children: Don (Carolyn) Enstad of Walnut
Grove, Jane (Keith) Nelsen of Westbrook, 2 grandchildren: Kari Enstad
of Sioux Falls, SD and Brennan Enstad of Mankato; brother: Norris
(Carolyn) Einertson of Sioux Falls, SD. She is preceded in death
by her husband, Lloyd, parents Norman and Mabel Einertson, and sisters:
Selma (Ray) Refsal and Norma (Dale R.) Nelson.
