Gaylon W. Hanson, age
64 of Westbrook passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at his
home. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m.
– 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Westbrook Funeral Home with a 6:30
p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to
services at the church. Interment will be in the Westbrook Cemetery.

Gaylon W. Hanson was born August 3, 1943 to Clarence and Alice
(Sandbo) Hanson in Westbrook Township, Minnesota. He was confirmed
at Trinity Lutheran Church and attended School District 68 and graduated
from Westbrook High School in 1963. Gaylon started working in construction
after high school and worked for many years. He lived on the farm
taking care of his mother for a number of years. Even after she
entered the nursing home Gaylon continued his faithful visits and
care for her.
Gaylon was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he
was active as an usher. His hobbies included collecting antiques
and toys, driving his antique tractor in parades and hauling iron.
Gaylon enjoyed helping others and spending time with his family;
especially his nieces and nephews.
Gaylon is survived by nine brothers and sisters: Algene Leiferman
of Mankato, Myrl (Iola) Hanson of Slayton, Dennis Hanson of Walnut
Grove, Clair (Alice) Hanson of Walnut Grove, Garry (Joan) Hanson
of Winona, Sonja (Robert) Swenson of Westbrook, Karen (David) Shaplin
of Lake Havasu, AZ, Twyla (Bill) Otto of Walnut Grove, and Wydon
Hanson of Lake Wilson; sister-in-law LaVonne Hanson Westbrook; and
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded
in death by his parents; brothers Dale and Charles Hanson, sister-in-law
Marlene Hanson, brother-in-law Bernie Leiferman and nephew Gale
Leiferman. |
